We met my cousin's daughter and her hubby at this restaurant and we all wanted to check it out. No reservations so we were a party of 9 including one toddler so we ordered two of each entree. The outdoor dining is spacious so we had plenty of room. We ordered a variety of dishes like chili wontons, Xiao loong bao, pineapple fried rice, chicken wings which were tasty and had a kick to it, shrimp dumplings, shanghai bok choy, beef chow fun, chive dumplings. All was good and plenty to share. Parking can be a problem as the lot can be full
The food is amazing and the service is great. Tim was really friendly and always checked in with us and never felt rushed. Definitely have the Bao Sliders and the salt and pepper wings. The happy hour is perfect to try out some of the foods and very big portions for happy hours, too.

We debated where to go for dinner and settled on this place. When we got there the parking lot was full. We parked a block away. When we entered there was a 19-35 min wait. We entered our name on the iPad waiting list. Luckily, it was just the two of us so we got a table in under 20 minutes. We were seated and given ice water. We were seated outdoors but it was mostly enclosed and the day was getting cooler. The menu is a QR Code. We ordered the piggy taco, piggy bao, bulgogi bao, chicken bao, and salt n pepper chicken wings. The piggy taco and bao both used fatty pork belly. I really liked it but the fat texture might be off putting to some people. The chicken boa is fried chicken, very crispy, and the bulgogi isn't very sweet. I really liked the chicken wings very much. It was hot, crispy, and slight hint of spice. I can see why this place gets such high marks.
The steamy piggy has amazing service great food. I tried almost everything I loved the chili wonton. I also liked the soup dumplings. The tacos are a must try. we even had the Bulgogi pancake that was more like a burrito! Dessert was amazing It's a must try.! I will say the place is kind of small and I wish it was a bit bigger.
This is my second time visiting San Diego, and both times Steamy Piggy has not disappointed! The only negative is the parking, but that's everywhere.
Beef chow fun and braised pork dish was great! Would definitely come back again if I was craving braised pork belly.
